One huge trend that just hit the racks recently is distressed hems. Now for a while we have had distressed hems on jeans, skirts and maybe some jackets. But the newest way we are seeing them is on sweaters. I personally love this new trend and I hope it sticks around for a while. These distressed hems on sweaters is a change of pace from your typical oversized sweater with a pair of distressed hem jeans. Now, you can get both in one article of clothing!
This is the first sweater I want to show you all with a distressed hem. This sweater is an oversized knit with the most adorable lace up detail on the neckline. This could have easily been just another chunky knit sweater that we all have at least 10 of in our closets. But, this one is special, it is slightly cropped and has a distressed hem and sleeves. I love to pair sweaters like this with high waisted jeans and a pair of booties. The cool thing about a sweater like this is that it is very versatile, it can go from typical sweater to edgy chic so fast. Pairing this sweater with a pair of black jeans or maybe leather leggings is a super fun way to spice up your look. Even add a leather jacket and over the knee boots and you are all set.
Another sweater that I am obsessing over is this adorable color blocked sweater with distressed hems! This piece is such a statement piece that is also very versatile. I love the color palette used for this sweater; with rust orange, mint green, navy, orange, yellow, tan, cream and white. It basically has every color in it, so it goes well with pretty much everything. My favorite way to style this sweater is with a pair of jeans and booties but I also think it would look adorable with a pair of leggings, a jeans jacket and a pair of comfy sneakers on a more casual day. This sweater has the distressed look on the hem, neckline and the sleeves. This sweater has a preppy but edgy feel to it which I love. This look is great for the fall and will also be super great when winter gets here as well!
